Meet the XTM Singularity Shaft by Basileus.
Basileus is one of those quietly legendary shaft makers from Japan, known for crafting ultra high-end hand-rolled shafts with some seriously advanced tech behind them. We’ve been big fans at TourSpecGolf for years, and over time they’ve built a devoted following, especially around their limited edition AAA shafts. Personally, I’ve played the AAA as my go-to gamer for over a decade.
Now, after years of R&D, Basileus has come up with something entirely new. A double kick design that performed so well in testing, they created a new sub-brand called XTM.
XTM takes a different angle. What if golf was treated like an extreme sport? What if we pushed the limits a little more? That’s what XTM is about. Thinking differently, trying new things, and creating gear that breaks the mold.
Leading the way is the XTM Singularity. This isn’t just another shaft. It’s a rethink of what performance feels like. Designed to maximize distance through a unique swing feel and dynamic shaft behavior, the Singularity brings something fresh to the table. It’s different, and that’s exactly the point.
Backed by years of fitting data, XTM introduces X-ABILITY, a new way to understand shaft characteristics. This makes it easier for golfers, especially those shopping online, to get a feel for how the shaft performs and make smarter reshafting choices with more personalized setups.
And then there’s the design. XTM isn’t interested in traditional luxury vibes or safe brand colors. Instead, they’re pulling inspiration from global street culture, cyber aesthetics, and modern art. There’s even generative AI in the mix, used as a creative tool in the design process. The result is bold visuals, vivid silver alloy coatings, and high-color finishes that reflect a new era of gear design. One not bound by age or convention.
The XTM Singularity is the first step in that direction. A fresh look, a new feel, and a mindset that’s all about exploring what golf can become.
This limited edition shaft was just released in Japan with only 300 pieces produced. In our opinion, the specs are spot on. While TSG hasn’t tested these yet, we attended a tech briefing that included commentary from top Japanese professionals, and based on what we saw, we strongly recommend ordering as soon as possible to secure your XTM Singularity.
