Introducing RomaRo Ray SX-Pro Wedge, A Multi-spin wedge for a variety of techniques, The bounce effect changes when the face is open or square.
Since the square-groove regulation, various innovations have been made to improve the spin performance of wedge faces. Currently, grooves that are just below the rule limit and advanced milling to fill in the spaces between the grooves are the mainstream, but the effectiveness of these methods is now approaching the upper limit. At Romaro, we have pursued the possibility of improving spin performance using methods other than grooving. The answer was to soften the material. This is the "hyper-heating process after molding. After the head is molded, it is heated to such a high temperature that it melts, and the hardness of the face surface is drastically reduced. By softening the original hardness of the material, a softer feel than ever before is achieved. The softer feel of the ball on the face dramatically improves ball retention and spin. Needless to say, the tenacious, sticky feel and sound of the ball, as well as the spin performance, directional stability, maneuverability, and forgiveness, all contribute greatly to the evolution of performance required of wedges.
Severe distance and control - Highly accurate spin control - The ball-holding ability that allows you to feel the face of the ball more.
Precision machining to improve the flatness accuracy of the entire face surface and cut a scoreline (groove) that is at the limit of the rules. The time it takes for the ball to touch the face is increased, and high spin is maintained right up to the fall. The stable spin makes it easy to stop the ball and the high spin makes it easy to bring the ball back, resulting in good ball retention from all lies and highly accurate spin control.
Dramatic improvement in distance and direction between lofts - "All lofts, same center of gravity design"
Romaro's first wedge designed with all lofts and the same center of gravity. Face retention can be applied at the same time to all lofts, dramatically improving distance and directional variation between lofts. In addition, the longer center of gravity distance, which is closer to the hitting point, suppresses extreme opening and closing of the face, contributing to face control and ease of direction.
New technology "Hyper Heat Manufacturing Method"
Lightweight wedges tend to be thin-walled and hard to the touch in order to reduce weight. Romaro has succeeded in softening the face surface through its proprietary "hyper-heating process after molding. By softening the original hardness of the material, the bouncing feel of the lightweight model is eliminated, and the same soft, sticky feel is achieved as in the series. The extremely soft feel of the ball on the face improves the ball retention and spinnability and contributes to the controllability of the ball by applying stable spin even from a tight lie.
Stop with height! Stop with spin! Versatile for a wide variety of techniques - Stable ball contact in all conditions - Double bounce multi-contact sole
The entire sole is rounded in the toe-heel direction with a bold backward drop, creating a "double-bounce design multi-contact sole. When the face is square, the bounce effect is moderately effective, and when the face is open, the bounce is suppressed, allowing the leading edge to contact the ball cleanly without floating. For players who have a wide variety of shot variations and manipulate their ball strike, the wide sole enhances the stability of the head behavior and forgiveness of mistakes. Produces the desired ball path with flexible head control from various lie conditions.
Clean ball contact without leading-edge lift when the face is open. Rear bounce is controlled, the heel does not lift and the neck does not move forward, reducing shank and top errors.
